The Skybar at DoubleTree Hilton Edinburgh hosted a relaxed, informal evening to celebrate the Scottish Chamber of Commerce’s outgoing President Nora Senior’s four successful years in the role. Speakers included Liz Cameron OBE, new Scottish Chamber President Tim Allan and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Chris van der Kuyl, Chairman of 4J Studios shared his experience with Chamber members at the Principal Hotel, George Street, from founding his first company in 1992 to his thoughts on the future of technology and it’s impact on the workforce.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week is an annual campaign to showcase how apprenticeships work for businesses, individuals and the economy. Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce’s “Developing the Young Workforce” team brought groups of young people to St Mary’s Cathedral as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2017. As well as discovering more about the Cathedral’s Workshop Project, there was the opportunity to get some hands on experience. We were also given the chance climb the bell tower and see the Edinburgh city skyline from an unusual perspective.

Educators and businesses work together to create a skilled workforce for Scotland’s future.
