Images from the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual housing conference held at the EICC. The Scottish housing world came together to network, learn and debate the biggest challenges and opportunities for the sector. Chaired by journalist Penny Tailor, the event presented the views of Government, Housing Associations and the private sector. Keynote speakers included Aileen Campbell MSP, Author Cash Carraway and Kevin Stewart MSP.

The 2019 Chamber awards were contested by 69 businesses at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Keynote speakers on the evening were Derek Mackay MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work, Kevin Mathers, Sales Director at Google UK, Economy and Fair Work, and Rebecca Moore, Senior Growth Director, Skyscanner. The evening was hosted by presenter and broadcaster David Tanner.
The Circular Edinburgh Team talked about the alternative business model and how it can positively impact on commercial success and growth. Mary Michel, Director of Ostrero provided an overview and Sandy McNaughton, Scottish Chair of the BIFM explained how Circular Economy principles relate to Facilities Management. Rob Gallagher spoke about The Edinburgh Remakery’s Circular Economy principles and success story and Cheryl Robb from Zero Waste Scotland presented information on the business support and funding.
The Principal Hotel hosted Edinburgh Chamber’s final event of the Year on Tuesday. Kezia Dugdale spoke with Chamber Chief Executive Liz McAreavey and answered questions posed by members on subjects ranging from Brexit to the Jungle.
