The 2019 Chamber awards were contested by 69 businesses at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Keynote speakers on the evening were Derek Mackay MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work, Kevin Mathers, Sales Director at Google UK, Economy and Fair Work, and Rebecca Moore, Senior Growth Director, Skyscanner. The evening was hosted by presenter and broadcaster David Tanner.
The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, joined Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce members for an “Inspiring Women in Business” lunch at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh.
Speaking to members, the First Minister said, “Helping more women to set up and succeed in business is both an economic and a moral imperative. By encouraging and supporting women to create and grow businesses, we can create greater equality which in turn builds a stronger and fairer economy. The Future Female Business Leaders Programme aims to tackle the key challenges that face women when it comes to growing their business or advancing their professional careers.”
Business people from Edinburgh and East Lothian learned about recycling opportunities and examples of recycling from Vegware and Riccardo Energy.
